Terraforming mod
Hi everyone I was wondering if there was a mod that allowed me to change a planet over time or anything that is similar to that. Thanks in advance!

no there isn't one, besides, you'd probably need to borrow a supercomputer from NASA. You can use hyperedit to change orbits and stuff and you can edit maps and code but otherwise no

Hi terraforming up to a point is possible using Kerbal Konstructs and a variation of PQS decals, The resolution of the planet surface does create a lot of limitations

I've heard of some mods that slightly catch the Terraforming idea. They all edit the body to be terraformed by means of Kopernicus so you basically just replace the current version without any actual terraforming operations. That never sounded interesting to me so I didn't bother to remember the names of the mods but I do know they exist, maybe you should look in the Kopernicus mods.

Terraforming is a very slow and difficult process. Even if we assume magical sci-fi tech, we're talking HUNDREDS to THOUSANDS of years.

While a mod could theoretically be made that slowly changes kerbal planets over time, i.e. thickening / thinning atmosphere, making it breathable, changing the visual textures etc if the mod were to be remotely realistic, you'd have to run time warp for MONTHS to even begin to see any noticeable difference.

Not to mention the energy and technology required to practice terraforming. A mod to this end would actually have to add a BUNCH of different stuff, i.e. mining gas from jupiter's atmosphere. Weather effects, dynamic fluid simulation etc.

Check out Isaac Arthur's video about terraforming.

If you just want kerbal planets to be different / habitable, you're better off with a brute-force mod that just outright changes them to the parameters you want.

I am aware of that. I was more talking about the KSP-related limitations
