Best orbit distance for Mun
So usually 100m to 200m is normal orbit with earth gravity in the game. Can anyone comment on the best for Mun. In theory its lower gravity, so should be able to orbit lower without getting pulled in.

Surely you mean 100Km to 200Km.

Mun has no atmosphere therefore no drag. I don't see why you couldn't orbit Mun at 5m given the proper adeptness at dodging terrain features.

10km is pretty common. Any lower and you risk ramming into a mountain.

One issue to consider with low orbits around the Mun is that if you burn retrograde to land you can't afford to lose much altitude while you're slowing down so you need to be more precise with your attitude.
With a high orbit you can lose most of your horizontal velocity and drop at a pretty steep angle with plenty of time to pick your landing site and get your descent velocity under control while killilng the last of your horizontal velocity.

Or just keep retrograde on the horizon for as long as possible

12,8Km is lowest i could reach without hitting mountain top

With 0 inclination, a circular orbit at 5875m is possible. Not practical, but fun. 7062m should be safe at any inclination. But as an actual parking orbit for vehicles and stations, I wouldn't go under 10km, which is the limit for 50x warp.

It is probably because I am not very good at this game but I tend to put space stations at about 30k. When launching a craft from the surface I find it easier to rendezvous with a station if its angular speed is a bit slower.
around 15k should be ok
Im always going higher than I can, to make my scanning mission git gut without crashing on mountain lmao

You are assuming the Mun has an atmosphere. It does not, so you can orbit as low as you want

no you cant
also if u think its easy to get stable low orbit then you are wrong
edit: I mean really low orbit

When meaning to land a vessel usually i orbit at 10km first. Highlands are about 7km high on the Mun so always gives some clearance.
I use the same for Minmus.

For rendevous higher orbits as timewarp is faster.

Getting a stable low orbit is easy. Getting one that won’t crash you into a mountain is the hard part.

mhm to get stable and perfect orbit periapsis and apoapsis need to be in the same range
yea I know... kerbalz dont need perfect orbit cuz they're kerbalz

You can get a stable orbit as low as you want due to the lack of atmosphere, assuming you aren't so low that you hit the surface.
