Maneuver planning uncorrect?
Hi!
I have a strange issue i never had before and i cant find the mistake.
I am sending a ship to Moho, have a descending node of 0,1 and plan my maneuver as usual by setting my orbit and then moving my maneuver node until i have an approach to Moho.
So far so good, but when i do the burn, the result is that there is no approach at the end, Moho is nearly at the opposite position when i am there.
When i save the game before i burn and reload, the maneuver node shows the "correct" outcome of the burn - so that there is absolutely no approach to Moho.
When i start moving the maneuvre node again to a point where i have an approach and do the burn it ends up in a totally wrong position again.
I am not using any mods.
I have no idea where the problem is.

Thanks if you know any help

A. How long is the burn?

B. What mode is your navball in? Surface, Orbit, or Target?

C. Screenshots? It's hard to picture what you're saying.

I have made the navball mistake before. You think you are in orbit but the game changed it to target and you just end up burning up fuel.

Isn't there a feature where the maneuver node will show you future orbits? Is it possible you need to take another trip around Kerbol before starting the burn?
First thanks for your quick answers, i feared that its hard to understand what i mean.
I now set a new maneuvre 390 days in the future hoping it will work then.
I loaded an old save - my nav ball is in orbit mode at that state, but maybe there is the problem.
The burn length is 17:41 min.
I played with the node and noticed the following:

The maneuver nodes a just a few seconds away from each other and i end up in so different positions?

Moho is in a pretty elliptical orbit. I noticed that in one of your maneuvers your Pe is just below Moho's orbit and in the other it is a bit higher. Maybe just do it as a two part maneuver. Drop your Pe down to Moho's orbit and than at your Pe add a maneuver to drop your Ap down until you get an encounter. I noticed the KSP Wiki suggests setting up a circular orbit between Eve and Moho and wait until Moho is between you and Kerbol to setup your final encounter.
Thats a a smart idea, i will try this later.
Thank you!

I find a correction burn as you arrive is often easier than trying to hit it perfectly from step one.
i have over 400 hours in this game and i never saw this as an option :( could have made my kerbal life a lot easier^^
