Where are the textures for the water planets?
This will get pretty technical.

Every planet/moon has a texture and a normal map in the game files which is used in the map view. Although, I can't seem to find the textures for planets with water (Kerbin, Eve, and Laythe). All I can find is a solid texture of the water which is used for the reflection effect, but no terrain textures. Anyone know where they are?

I take it you're looking in asset bundles?

Saying that, if you are wanting to replace terrain or water textures with your own, you don't need to know where they are in the base game, you can use Kopernicus and a config which tells it what textures to use.

Not trying to replace them, just looking for the terrain textures.

Well they're simply not there. Maybe the water planets are forced to use other rendering methods.

sharedassets9.assets.resS which is where you likely found the water textures does appear to contain quite a lot of Kerbin textures. I didn't unpack anything but I did read through the manifest. For example, textures I suspect are for Kerbin, grass2, ground, ground dirt04, dessertRunway, snow and ice among others. All the KSC textures are there too.

Well, I don't know for sure but I'm going on a pretty strong hunch based on other things I've done with KSP. I also suspect this is where all the original planet textures reside.
