Any mods that make the game much easier?
For newbies?

What kind of "easier" are you talking about? Like in-game tutorial / reminders about basic flight concepts? How do you feel about the game's built-in 'easy' difficulty settings?

Short of an autopilot, 'easy' is very very forgiving, but yes, you still need to fly the ships and know how to fly and how to perform maneuvers. But i don't even know what kind of game it would be if the ships flew themselves and did all that for you. Part of the game is making mistakes and improving.

Maybe a mod that removes or makes maneuvering much easier? I hope there is a mod for easier meneuvering. Also better reminders would be good. Thx for help.

Check out this forum thread:

It specifically mentions mechjeb and laser docking cam which I would agree with. Though I'm pretty sure they just give you more information and tools to work with. You still have to know how to fly.

I think what you need to make maneuvering easier is to watch a tutorial on how orbital maneuvering works and how to read the nav ball and its symbols;

Don't know if it still works, but try MechJeb. It automates some things for the player and allows one to learn how to do things themselves by observing what the mod does to accomplish various things (except docking, which seems to be the one thing that it can't do properly by itself).

OP tried Mechjeb and found it much too hard to use. I think he wants to point at something, click a button and his ship flies there. He tends to catch a lot of flak for posting the same topics over and over.
To be fair his profile says he's a student from Lithuania but doesn't elaborate. College? Grade school? Perhaps a "special needs" student.

Even easier ? "HYPEREDIT" makes many things easier.
Good for quickly bringing stations into orbit ;)

Or yourself and much more.
But fun with simulation is over. Learn better the basics ;)
To be proud of yourself :stars:

KERBAL is not a Teletubbie-Game.

Other than mechjeb (Or whatever it's called), the next step on the difficulty scale would be to just use cheats.

I'm sure there's plenty of YT vids on using mechjeb. It's a powerful tool for automation and really couldn't be much easier to use.

Honestly the only 3 MechJeb things I really use are Ascent and Landing autopilot and maneuver planner. You'll be able to go most anywhere once you know just those 3 things.

There are two basic thoughts about Kerbal Rocket crafting:

1. Scale down your rocket. More fuel does not mean always mean more Delta V.

2. MOAR BOOSTERS. There is NO PROBLEM THAT CAN NOT BE SOLVED WITH MOAR BOOSTERS!

The game is based on real life physics. Even using an autopilot (eg MechJeb) you still need to know enough about how things work to know which maneuvers to tell it to do, and know when it's messed up (which it does a lot).

Best bet is to check one of the many KSP tutorial series on youtube and just learn it. Taking shortcuts will only hurt you in the long run.

BoyDilly,

If you're serious about learning KSP, and find MechJeb too difficult, then you might want to watch another player show you how to do it.

You can watch Scott Manley's KSP tutorial videos for free on YouTube. You might also enlist an experienced player to simply show you via broadcasting their gameplay to you.

Question to other KSP players on steam: Does this broadcast idea work? I've been doing KSP a long time but only recently added it to steam (mainly for ease of handling dlcs / workshop stuff).

Of course not. This guy has the attention span of a fruit fly and will just forget everything that was told him more than three minutes ago. He needs professional medical help, everything else is just a waste of time.

Taking OP out of the picture, then, has anyone tried broadcasting their KSP gameplay to another user? I've not tried it yet. Thanks.
