How to undo the latest KSP update
KSP is awesome. Thank you devs for the latest update/upgrade. I am sure it fixes a ton of glitches and makes our game more fun and prettier.

However, there is a trend where all new KSP updates breaks a whole lot of games.

On Steam, updates are automatic which means you, unsuspectingly, started KSP from your last save and now everything is broken.

Here are my 3 tips for dealing with KSP major updates.

1. Never open a saved game with .0 tech. If it's version 1.0, 2.0 or 1.8.0, the answer is NO. Not now. Not ever. Never ever open a saved game with .0 tech.

2. Revert. From the Steam library, right click your game and select properties from the menu. Select the tab named Betas at the top of the dialog box. On the left side is a drop down menu. Select the past version you want from the drop down. I usually choose the highest numbered version that is not the new current version.

3. Back up your craft files and save KSP nightly. It's a PITA but when I have a plane the way I want it, I save a version of the craft files outside of KSP so if I have to start the game over with a new version I can take my carefully balanced planes with me.

Eventually the new bugs will be patched with a version .1 or .2. When that happens, I allow Steam to push the latest version (reverse step 2 above). Then I usually start a new game and try to mod it the way I want it and if it all works, then I open my persistent save in the new version and bring over my craft and missions.

Thank you Squad for the most awesome sandbox EVER!

Thank you Steam/Squad for allowing us to use the version that works for us.

Thank you Private Division for continuing to support KSP with updates.

I would also suggest deleting manually the KSP renmnants from the HD of the version you don't want to have.

After the upgrade to 1.8 I was experiencing odd physics, because of that. Uninstall the game, delete the files left on the HD and reinstall. I had an issue after upgrading to 1.8, which got solved by deleting the files remaining from the older version. I suppose downgrading will follow the same logic.
