Any type of Multiplayer, not battle mode?
I've seen some multiplayer of just the battle mode but I'm wondering is there any proper multiplayer with say a sort of race to space or something like that or maybe even just like a singleplayer but into multiplayer if that makes sense, to maybe, you get stuff from mission control, and you research for science and maybe you sell science for more if you get it sooner.

I just want to be able to have a "mission control" LAN party setup with all of us monitoring different parts of a single game. Pipe dreams....
There is a mod for that. Can't remember the name but you techically can send telemetry to your browser and with a the mod you can then setup different windows. So you can build your own mission control.

^ This: Its called telemachus:

If you go to the github page you will find that it is indeed compatible with 1.2 - forum post is outdated.

Edit: Since the mod ships its own webserver this is indeed very much LAN compatible.

Qute from the github of "huston":
"Do you have a bunch of friends who haven't done something unbelievably nerdy in the past 6 months?"

Sadly I don't have friends as nerdy as me^^
but huston is telemachus on steroids for all your mission control needs:

It's fun to throw in your tablet and phone and old laptop and just go full IVA.

how can 1 guy timewarp without interfering with the others? that is the problem with ksp multiplayer, and that is also why it will never be multiplayer
I wont mention the game, but there is another game that handles warping by limiting it to the lowest of the mutually requested warp factors. So if PLayer 1 wants to warp and player A doesnt, you dont warp, Or if 1 wants to warp at x1000 and A wants to warp at x50, it warps at x50

My god if your problem with multiplayer is warp mode just remove the ability to do so... but understand missions to Duna will be in real time and most probably take several hours.

There are many options open to the server creator on DMP server setup, as follows (taken from installation server documentation):

warpmode - The warp type.

Mode 0: MCW_FORCE, You take a warp lock, every player will follow you into warp, and you will create a subspace when you come out of warp that everyone will sync to.

Mode 1: MCW_VOTE: Same as MCW_FORCE, but you have to vote first - This option may be good for players doing the same thing with voice chat.

Mode 4: SUBSPACE: The default, and most important mode. Each player can warp at will, and they can "sync" to other players times. This is the only mode that allows QuickSaving/QuickLoading

Mode 5: NONE: Players will be unable to warp.

If kerbal had NO TIME WARP but was optomized with BD armory, North Kerbin, Tweak Scale, and a handful of future propulsion + fancy parts mods : the addition of multiplayer would easily make it its own stand alone game. The realism would make chris roberts rethink star citizen (again). Imagine, only being able to see an enemy approach when your radar detects it and you see it and can plan a reaction. you have to plan space battles. Is this what EVE online is like? i never played...
