Also, it doesn't uninstall mods just because a version number changed.
Steam does not support old versions.
You dont need Steam to run the game.
Then add the install to CKAN > File > Select KSP Install.
*Edit*
I hope this is more useful to someone else less retarded.
2: Yes it does
3: I have the steam version so it auto updates. Im not shelling out extra money to have both versions.
4: Then after what? Did you put a tutorial and then delete it? If you are just going to make this difficult, don't post on this thread at all.
CKAN can then be pointed to that version, and any mods available for that version can be downloaded.
You just have to run from the exe in that case, so you lose Steam functions, but you can do this has often as you want.
Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, I don't know if CKAN will still even offer mods for an older version. I usually have my mod list finalized by the time a new update comes out, so I don't think I have ever tried getting more mods for an old version through CKAN.
someone ahem needs to read the FAQ's before posting. or the offical website stop being lazy this question has been asked millions of times.
And like I said before, I really don't know that CKAN even keeps older versions of mods. I simply have never tried that I can recall.
Go to your KSP folder and open readme.txt
change the version number to 1.2.1, save, then try launching CKAN again.
Be sure to switch it back when you're done.
Hope this helps!
Edit: Oh and..
Nope, you can run external installs from the Steam play button like you would normally through custom launch options.
Weird. Never counts my hours, allows screenshots, or anything on mine. Just runs the game.
Bad commands or something I guess. Not all that bothered anyway though. I only tried it with one install, and I now have about 5 that I just run from desktop shortcuts for convenience. No motivation to set them all up through steam, hehe.
I used this to run a 64 bit install when 64 bit was officially removed. Functioned just like I was running my Steam install without any commands. If you run multiple installs you can keep a text document with all the directories listed for quick and easy copy and paste but...if you don't care for the Steam features you miss, might aswell just run them from their own desktop shortcuts.
Now if I could find a way to ensure that CKAN only installed the correct version, rather than just the latest mod version that often breaks with an older KSP...
