i have seen some yt vidsin ksp and some how they youtubers can duplicate objects like the fins

As in when you click on a part in the VAB/SPH and it copies the part? By default, that should be alt (or right-shift on Linux) when you click the part.

This will also duplicate everything attached to the part, so you can end up duplicating big sections of rocket if you need to.

Should also be noted that if you copy a large section you can select parts from it by pressing Shift and clicking on a part in the copy.
