you can use this up to 4x burn speed
thank you so much
Shouldn't be a huge problem with an ion engine, but you might be tempted to speed up a Mainsail or Vector-powered launch, and that would have a high chance of unintended disassembly with extra time-warped comedy value. Just make sure you have Yaketty Sax playing, and save often.
Never happened to me in other places but Eve's atmosphere. It can happen in low atmospheres, but in any other places it's very safe to do if your craft is symmetrical enough. It's very useful for nukes and ion engines, yet keep in mind that having a long S burn with a low acceleration/ TWR will not get you the results that the maneuver node says, you will lose dV AND you'll have to do a correction burn afterwards, especially for interplanetary burns. You might wanna think about adding some more engines.
There's also a mod called PersistentThrust that can help you more than 4X-ing, for things like interstellar voyages where 4X just doesn't cut it.
It's a bad idea to 4x launches mainly because you can't properly steer the craft and such. It's just a few mins to orbit anyway, not like 6-10 minutes for Earth.
