Aerodynamic drag of MK16 Parachute vs Nose Cones?
I searched online and found this great article, but Im wondering if i should replace the MK16 parachute on the top of my command module with radial parachutes and an Advanced Nose cone? Does the MK16 even have a drag coefficient? A google search turned up nothing.

Thanks in Advance!

MK16 is sharp enough for all purposes. Larger XL chute rather isn't as good.

There is advanced drag data you can switch on in Alt+F12 menu. For the whole ship and each part as well. Use that one for accurate numbers.

Not super important on a rocket, as gravity losses are your main concern. Aero losses don't amount to terribly much.

If you'd like to do some more in depth research yourself though, I'd be interested to hear the results.

You can open the debug menu with Alt+F12 and I forget exactly which tab but one of them as an option to enable an aero/drag numbers display for parts on right click. (RoofCat, master ninja! Curse you!)

I shouldn't think that any aerodynamic savings would make up for the increased drag and mass of what'll probably be two radial chutes.
