Controls Lock After Time Warp
I built a ship to get a rover to Duna, but when I escape Kerbin and the exit the time warp, I can no longer control the ship except for the decouplers. There is plenty of fuel, but the acceleration needle never moves, and I have plenty of RCS but I can't rotate or turn the ship. I placed batteries and solar panels (which I extended before the time warp) all over the ship and all the batteries display at max charge. I have tried this four times and it was always the same result.

is it a probe or manned? probes must be within com range to be controllable. maybe duna is simply too far away for your current level of tracking station and the antennas you put on your craft.

Really? Where does it display range? My ship is unmanned and I'm on sandbox, so do I just need to put an antenna on it?

Right, I put an antenna on it and it works now thanks. I haven't played this game in a while, I don't think you needed that last time I played.

don't know all the details of the com system. haven't played for a while and only just started to play KSP again. the in game manual has some info about the com system, i guess that would be a good starting point.

the antenna parts also show a range in the editor and that range depends on the level of your tracking station (which is automatically the highest level in sandbox i guess). you may still have to add one of the higher tech antennas with long range to get signals out to duna.
