i do it apollo 13 style, get relatively close, then when in view fire in the direction the target is moving until it is no longer moving, then fire towards target.
ive docked without RCS, soooo im kindof a badass ; )

Why the heck doesn't he dock on the Sun side of the planet and not in total darkness?
Would be easier to follow if I could actually see the spacecraft.
I can tell you from thousands of hours of experience that docking always seems to happen in total darkness, no matter how hard you try to plan it otherwise, lol.
I put lights on everything, they are like condoms; better to have them and not need them, than to need them and not have them.
