there is everything about antennas

Build a satellite network if you need to. As long as there's a transmitter and reciever in range of both Kerbin and the probe, it'll be linked.

I believe of those three the HG-5 is the one with the most distance.

Thank you!

The Com 16 and 16-s are direct antenna which means they can only talk to a Relay or Kerbin. They are not capable of receiving and resending signals from other antenna. (They are basically the same antenna with a different form factor.)

The HG-5 is a relay, which means it can receive and resend signals from other antenna as well as talk to Kerbin directly.

Basicaly direct antenna are for your typical space craft out doign missions, or probes transmitting science back, etc... Relay antenna are for your satellites to form a communication network for your other ships to use.

You can stack most antennas to increase the range, however this has diminishing returns, as a general rules o fthumb it takes 4 more antenna of the same kind to double the power of the 1st one.

I use the com 16 for my tiny probes but I need a relay network set up for it to work past LKO.
