No sound
The issue has already been posted several times, but I still have no solution to the problem.

No sound in KSP - just in KSP. Every other game works fine.
Checked Sound-Mixer. KSP not muted. Settings. Sound is active.
Driver is HDAudio.sys
I also have Realtek drivers, but when they are active, the sound is cracking.

Anything else I have missed or ist there another setting where KSP may be muted?

I take it you verified install files?
Did you try muting and unmuting the sound in game settings? move sliders aorund?
any mods installed, and tried running the game without mods if yes?

Update: Switched to Realtek Drivers. Sound works but as usual with them hollow and crackling (in all applications), so you could not bear it more than 5 seconds until your ears start to bleed. Switched back to HDAudio drivers. Sound works fine in all other apps, but KSP is silent again.

Device manager. Select audio driver, upgrade, use driver from hard drive, select manually. There should be a generic hd audio driver available.

That would be the HD audio driver from realtek. Device manager will keep a copy of it in your windows directory... Have you tried updating your realtek drivers? Don't bother trying to do it through device manager, that won't work.

Ok I found the problem. It was some internal Issue with windows 10 sound system.

How to slove:

1. In the lower right hand corner there is a speaker/sound icon

2. Right click the icon and select troubleshoot sound problems

3. It will detect any possible problem there is (Could take a few minutes)

4. After it lists the steps, in the lower right hand corner, click next

5. It will try to solve the detected problem (Could take a few minutes)

6. Once its done, select the close troubleshooter option and restart the computer if asked

This worked for me so hope it will for you!!

Ok, maybe someone will find this answer useful.
If you have an ASUS motherboard and happens to have ASUS Sonic Studio 3, kill it with fire. Close it in the system tray.
Worked like a charm.

I have an Alienware laptop with all the Alienware programs like AlienFX, Alienware Sound Centre, etc. I went into task manager and cut Alienware Sound Centre and it worked just fine.
