How to ungroup symmetric stage ?
hi, I struggle to find how to ungroup symmetric stage.
I have 2 symmetric probes attached on 2 symmetric decoupler (one on each side of the ship).
I would like to launch them sperately but since i used symmetry to place them I don t seem to be allowed to ungroup the staging part of the decoupler.

I installed Editor Extensions Redux released Mod to break symmetry, it does break symmetry but the decoupler stay grouped in the same stage.

Any help?

first you can do manual decoupling in flight right-clicking on each decoupler as needed.

second is to open group in VAB, click on one of them and drag and drop to a separate stage. Ctrl click to select multiple.

you don't need mod to do any of this. It's stock functionality.

i ve read this on internet, but when i open the group, keep pressure on ctrl while trying to move just one decoupler of the group to another stage it constantly move both; this seems to only work if i haven t used symmetry.
I tried save & reload thinking it was a bug, but didn t work , then i installed Editor Extensions Redux.

Just found an alternative solution by using Editor Extensions Redux, i make 4 decoupler, break symmetry with mod, delete 2 decoupler, then it separates the group in the stage.

Still looking for a way to do this without mod.

you use ctrl to mark multiple. Not while moving as far as I remember.

I'm struggling to remember if it is possible with symmetrically placed objects because I always install Editor Extensions. Great tool.

after opening the group then
step 1) is to select which ones are highlighted and which ones you want greyed out
step 2) is to drag the selected ones into a new group.
So that is how you split them up.
