Gravioli detector?

I have a Minmus sat contract that calls for a 'gravioli detector' on the sat, but I can't find anything like that in my parts.

I've been told that if you accept a contract, then the part will be available to you, even if you haven't opened up that sci tier.

Can some one help me out?

It's the little blue box found in the science parts tab.

Mission contracts only ever called for parts i had unlocked.
Part experiment contracts will unlock parts you dont have unlocked yet but only for the duration of the mission.
