You could also make a stock hinge and rotate it that way. These tend to fail when timewarping though.
I said make, not use.
As in build one yourself out of stock parts.
The structural fuselage part is hollow, you can send structural girders through it and use that as a rotational hinge.
A bunch of thermomoters around the circular RCS part works as well.
However, as I said before; these won't hold up to timewarping.
btw. im using 1.4.1
Just make a stock ball and cup hinge. About the easiest hinge to make in stock KSP. Plus doing it stock is way more fun/impressive!
Here's a pretty simple example using decouplers.

Once you detach the trailer, the couplers form a cup that falls onto the RCS ball. Boom, working trailer.
