Try adjusting your fractal terrain parameters? Florida is really really really flat, full of little lakes and swamps. so, its confusing the terrain engine, which is great, but polygon based not voxels
remember that the terrain map is generated from a greyscale heightmap image, so.. there are only 256 levels of height available (because most greyscale images use 256 shades of grey), in 7 miles of terrain.... 35000 divided by 256 and that's why Florida looks funny in RSS
What you really want to do, is load up the heightmap for RSS and just give it a bit of a "white-wash" and flatten (lighten) those "problem" areas in Photoshop. probably would only take an hour or so. I've done a "little" KSP modding, but I havn't looked at the RSS data images so, I dont know.
Is it just Florida? what other regions look wierd? if you post a bunch a screen in the thread, it might inspire someone to take on the job of re-paintin.
Heres a picture it describes it better http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=929594702

Edit: It just occured to me, you could just disable the ocean shaders in the menu that appears when you load the game. If it's not there because you checked the box to hide it, ALT+F10 or F11 should bring it up.
They helped me too once, good support over there.
You should edit the following lines...
Change them all to False...though you probably only need to change the first line.
