1/10th RSS ground glitch
Does anyone else have a problem with the ground with the 1/10th RSS were the water level is a bit high and that makes the ground not look like it should with flordia not being conected to ther main land and stuff. Or is it just cliamte change ;)

Climate change. There is some data problems in the heightmap for the Real Solar System mod.

Try adjusting your fractal terrain parameters? Florida is really really really flat, full of little lakes and swamps. so, its confusing the terrain engine, which is great, but polygon based not voxels

remember that the terrain map is generated from a greyscale heightmap image, so.. there are only 256 levels of height available (because most greyscale images use 256 shades of grey), in 7 miles of terrain.... 35000 divided by 256 and that's why Florida looks funny in RSS

How do you change the fractal terrian permaiters

ahh, that wouldnt probably do anything, but I ment the general terrain options in the game graphics options.

What you really want to do, is load up the heightmap for RSS and just give it a bit of a "white-wash" and flatten (lighten) those "problem" areas in Photoshop. probably would only take an hour or so. I've done a "little" KSP modding, but I havn't looked at the RSS data images so, I dont know.

Is it just Florida? what other regions look wierd? if you post a bunch a screen in the thread, it might inspire someone to take on the job of re-paintin.

Its in alot of places I think overall the sea level is 25-50 meters higher that it should be resulting in low leaveal paleces which is a lot of laces being under water.

Heres a picture it describes it better http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=929594702

If you are using scatterer...which I believe you are, you should be able to edit the config. It also has a habit of bugging out a little...

Edit: It just occured to me, you could just disable the ocean shaders in the menu that appears when you load the game. If it's not there because you checked the box to hide it, ALT+F10 or F11 should bring it up.

Disabling ocean shaders appered to have fixed the problem untill i zoomed out trying to find the ocean relizing it was all gone
Manwith Noname May 20, 2017 @ 4:09pm
Hmm, I figured it would revert back to the stock ocean.
FlashFire May 20, 2017 @ 4:25pm
Im also not sure what to edit in the config i tried messing around with the ocean level and changed that from 0 to -10 but it did not change anything.

If you disable shaders you have to restart the game to see the ocean again!
FlashFire May 20, 2017 @ 4:56pm
How do I restart the game without the ocean shader being turrned back on. Is there a restart button insted of exiting the game whuich results in scatterer being set back to defult.

Scatterer wont reset to default. In earlier versions when ocean shader caused weird graphic glitches for me I used to turn it off too. If you just alter the settings in the mainscreen (alt+f10 if you turned it off) it will save the settings.

Yeah it keeps going back to defults this is so fustrating.

Then go to the scatterer thread and ask for help. They're pretty kind over there and if you stick to the rules for asking for support they'll do what they can to get you out of your misery.
They helped me too once, good support over there.

Browse to you KSP install. Find the Scatterer folder inside gamedata. Go in the config folder and open the config.cfg.

You should edit the following lines...

useOceanShaders = True oceanSkyReflections = True oceanRefraction = True oceanPixelLights = True

Change them all to False...though you probably only need to change the first line.
