This is an extreme example, but still.

What matters to me is the core freaking experience of the game, tearing down the ships. And I am frustrated beyond belief that they aren't held together in a consistent way whatsoever.
Best I can tell, the floor/wall panels are what actually hold the vast majority of the ship together. Remove enough of those and they'll cause the rest of the ship to collapse.
The beams (that you have to grind) are always connected directly to the hulls, and then each beam is only directly supported by its adjacent floor/wall panel.
Long story short. Stuff collapses when it shouldn't, and it doesn't when it should. I'm not asking for a realistic physics engine. I just want it to freakin' make sense and be consistent. I want the panels to be supported by the beams, not the other way around.
The amount of times I end up with floating beams after completely isolating them is ridiculous.
Again. I'm not asking for a new system. What they have can work. They literally just need to configure it properly. Make every beam connected directly to the hull (the way it does now, on the sides... the bottom is a different story), and then make every beam supported by its adjacent beam... and make every panel supported by the same-tile beams...
What are the panels bolted to, exactly? Each other? The beams? Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it! Remove the panel on the opposite (or upper) side, the other panel stays secure. Remove the beams, they stay secure.
Look at this. https://imgur.com/a/yVmy0bE
I had EVERYTHING disconnected from the hull piece. There wasn't anything in those floor gaps. It's literally just those 3 missing wall panels that were holding it. As you can see it's now loose.
I'm completely over this game. The entire point of the game is to have fun taking apart ships, and they've managed to screw that up. It's not fun at all when they aren't held together in a remotely consistent way. And they went through the trouble of having multiple types of connections. Hammer, saw, torch. That's all good. BUT NOTHING MAKES SENSE!
I just need to go play Hardspace: Shipbreaker. That game makes sense. Screw this mess.
Bro, what is this comment? Why do you feel the need to try to antagonize me for being legitimately frustrated over glaring game breaking bugs? Thanks for adding absolutely nothing to the conversation.
If that comment antagonizes you, then you are seriously frustrated. In the end you let off some steam here and now just move on to the next game. :)
On Topic though:
For me the "physics" of this game are not perfect, but it does its job and if there are hovering bars here and there ... I use the rope to cut them down and thats it. It surely does not destroy my fun with the game. :)
physics are definitely great!!! Anyone have an idea how to finish this ship?
Alternately, accept that it's not worth the time or effort to scrap ~$20 in metals in an awkward position, and move onto the next ship.
That's actually easy. Just use the hook to get on top of it, then cut it from the top down. Start by removing the panels, remove the right one and the rest may collapse.
It even can not be cleared with explosives
