The sound is wayyyyyyy too loud
The day before the update, I played without problem. But today I can't launch the game. All I get is a big white window and then a little error message from windows (I think) saying the program has stopped working. Nothing else.. I saw some other recent topics about similar problems, so maybe it will be fixed soon.
Note: I'm using an old laptop (DELL Latitude E5500) with a Windows 7 32-bit OS.
Dear devs, will you fix that issue for an old OS like mine? Or else, is there a way to download & play the old game version through Steam, I mean without this 10 year update?
Edit1: I managed to launch the game. I had to edit the config file (in the save directory of the game) in order to set the parameter "use_fbo" to 0 (-1 = always crash, and 1 = crash when both fbo_width & fbo_height are specified). But the game is still unplayable because it has many mini freezes...
Edit2: They updated the update. I still have the same problem to launch the game normally, but once launched (with "use_fbo" set to 0 in the config file) the game runs correctly now. No more mini freezes.
* First of all, the game won't even launch without HEX editing the executable's header (no biggie, everything compiled with pile of trash called Visual Studio or Qt 5.6.x does so nowadays - the procedure of replacing two instances of 0x00000006 with 0x00000004 is a thing of 10 seconds flat).
* Second, the game has no sound. It's completely silent. Whatever was changed in SDL2 Mixer, it broke the audio output. If you set it to WASAPI, please revert it to WaveOut, DirectSound or let user decide this setting.
Now I'll have to get the old version somewhere else, just to play what once worked perfectly. Thanks for nothing.
Previous fan made attempts to offer 16x9 support (and I think some official console ports) had resulted in 16x9 aspect ratio for the view port but it was just 4x3 visuals zoomed in to fill the view port so you actually saw less of the game (top and bottom edges of the display cropped, didn't see any further left/right).
