Virus infected Steam files???
I just got a notification from my antivirus software today that says 2 Quake files are infected with a "Trojan horse IRC/Backdoor.Sdbot4.ADSQ".

The files include:

Steam\steamapps\common\quake 3 arena\Extras\sysinfo.exe
Steam\steamapps\common\quake\sysinfo.exe

Has anyone else gotten this message from their antivirus software? Im using AVG

Yep, AVG just flagged files in Quake, Quake 3 Arena and Quake 3 Team Arena for me. I'm guessing its a false positive because I haven't touched any of these games since the first week I bought them. I let AVG delete them then validated all 3 games files.

As soon as I re-aquired the files after validating AVG flagged them again. I googled the actual Trojan Horse and unless you have a process called "random.exe" running its AVG just over reacting I do believe. Here is the page on it I found. http://blog.teesupport.com/how-to-remvoe-trojan-horse-ircbackdoor-sdbot4-acvn-virus-completely/

AVG gives a lot of false positives for Steam stuff. I remember on launch date, I tried to play Portal 2, but AVG wouldn't let me. My advice is to go into your Resident Shield settings and add your Steam directory to your exceptions list.

You shouldn't have any viruses or anything from Steam unless your game goes rogue and downloads a virus from a custom server or something.
