quake 3 keeps crashing when i try to play on windows 7
i know it dose not have the drivers to run on windows 7 but is there a potential fix? its a great game and a lot of fun and it would be great to have a fix

you need the get the game patch for it to work properly in win 7
Google Q3 Patch.i think there were 3 but you only need the latest one

its not a launch issue its crashing after about an hour

if its after that long.it seems more like a HW related issue
updated drivers??
are your temps all ok? cpu,video card??

its running as cool as when its idle (a little over room temp) and all of my drivers are up to date. i have a 4 core processor and a nividia GeForce 560m and 6gb of ram

it could be some process/program running in the backround interfearing maby.
do a search for a program called whocrashed it will give info about the last program crash as long as windows error reporting is on(default setting)
other than that i am out of ideas now

but all i have open are steam and quake3 team arena and a program to make my mouce work O_o

turn the steam overlay off in-game. worked for me

left click the game in library should be in settings there as a check box

I did not use my disc but bought the Quale pack when it was on sale on Steam and have had
no problems on my new PC running Win 7............

I've bought a few days ago on steam the complete quake pack but q3a doesn't run.All the others games are perfect!
I have an old original copy of this game that runs on win7 64.
Why the steam's copy does not run?
