Just download Quake3e, and replace the main .exe (Quake3.exe, i recommend to rename it to a
make backup) and play. Q3e has a modern fixes

Is there any reason to use the updated paks here for the vanilla quake 3 exe?
Are they better if i was not to use IOquake3 but just use the vanilla quake exe.

I think I worked it out.
Team Arena is not patched with the new paks ,maybe Quake 3 is.
I put the replacement files in.
Seems all good to me.
