If I own Quake 3 on cd rom and have the key can I download it for free on steam?
Can I get the digital version for free because I can't install from the old ass cd rom anymore? I have the cd key.

I wonder if using "activate a product on steam" would work.

No, it wouldn't. The only thing you can do is add it as a non-steam game.

I don't think they'll do that, I'm sorry. Maybe you could contact them and ask? Hope you'll find the answer you need.

with a little bit of research I was able it install in to windows 10 straight from the cd. I did add it to steam so it shows I play it to my friends. The license is still mine and all that good stuff too. Thanks for the reply.

Oh yeah ofc, I forgot.
You could install via de demo32.exe file (installation) i.o. setup.exe because that file sometimes won't work. Then you add the game like Non-Steam-Game and tada.. Same servers, same players. And w/ steam linked. =D I'm sorry I didn't told u before, I forgot it too xDD
