Basically more maps, more guns, more enemies, and player models. More info here: https://quake.fandom.com/wiki/Quake_III_Arena

You can, with the full version, use source ports to make the default game run better. I've used IoQuake3 and Excessive Dawn. I recommend Excessive Dawn more since I've tested both and I liked the second one more since it improves on more things than the 1st one.

Here's the link to the downloads page: http://www.edawn-mod.org/download.php?style=classic

Get the "Mod Exe" version.

Oh, and... with the FULL version you also get Open Arena and the possibility to download and play several mods that can be acquired from different websites and sources, such as gamebanana or moddb.

You are welcome! I just bought the game, and tried it without any sourceport, and I had a crash. Installed Excessive Dawn executable and ran very well no issues at all.

Bad thing is classic games don't get support for modern OS, good thing is that there are source ports available that can make the game run like it's from a current era :)
