i just started chapter 11, where you get the kill sniper achievement. and i freaking missed a sniper v__v i dont wanna keep going now.... i already overwrite my save so im stuck... idk what to do

There should be a autosave before that somewhere, unless you disabled autosaving for some reason.

all my auto saves are after i killed the snipers on the roof, so i went pretty far before realizing my mistake

Enable console, there should be a map code. (like c1_breen _01 or something)
Then search for more codes and try typing "map %map code%".

ok if i click new game and start on chapter 11, will it reset all my lambda signs? cuz im already on like 42, i would hate to lose all my progress

Load Half-Life 2. Go into options/ Click Keyboard. Now Click Advanced.
Click Enable Developer Console. Click Apply. Now the Start the game.While in the game Click the Tilda Key on your keyboard, this will open the console. Enter "sv_cheats 0" (this is no cheats). Now to show your frame rate AND what map you on.
Type "cl_showf fps 1"Now to pick the map you want type "map *" This is a good tool for finding missed achievements. To Cheat "sv_cheats
This works for Both Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 UPDATE.

it will not restart your progress on the lambda locator
