However you really shouldn't do a campaign for a plush like this because you take none of the risk while all your consumers take all the risk, There is no guarantee that in 3 months time I will get a plush that looks like yours or that I will even get the item at all, I so far like your game but from a business point of view that's a bad thing you did there you put all the risk onto your consumer instead of yourself, Your the one that's supposed to take the risks it's your venture not ours :3 I only write this because you could potentially alienate your player base in the future by thinking like this. Terrible decision imho

Your game sold like 3 million units, Why not just make 100 plushie sell them as limited edition and keep running that series for that plush until it stops selling.

I subscribed and I'll buy your plushie only because I collect them but in 3 months time if I am not satisfied I will not support you at all ever again.

I'm not sure what risk you are worried about the consumer taking. If the plushie sells the minimum number required to produce it, Makeship will make them. If not, everyone that wanted to buy one gets refunded[www.makeship.com], no plushies get produced, and everybody is sad.

These guys produce small batch plushies (I don't think anyone is counting on an indie game selling tens of thousands of plushies, though I'm sure Makeship would be ecstatic if it did). They just want to make sure the minimum required for them to turn a profit is reached.

This isn't like backing a Kickstarter where you may or may not have a game at the end of it because the devs ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up but your money is gone either way.


In regards to the general Twitter hate in here, I get it. The only time I personally sign into a Twitter account is to post updates for Crate. The good news is that Twitter is not required to buy the plushie, which is available starting tomorrow[shop.makeship.com].

You already have the option to buy. Just sign up at Makeship via the link in the second paragraph of the GD forum thread and you'll be notified when you can purchase it. Or go to their shop tomorrow which is when they'll start taking orders for it there.
