Shattered Realms is boring
I am not sure what they were thinking when they made this the main content of the Forgotten Gods DLC. Filling up a bar 3 times and fighting "bosses" over and over again on a timer you can extend is just boring. It´s not helped by the fact that the mobs start out way easier than even the basic mobs in the game on Ultimate.

The loot is also terrible compared to just running dungeons or farming totems at least as far as I bothered pushing. At what point does it become as rewarding as just spamming totems or dungeons? It just feels so bad having to grind my way to it being as rewarding as what other content without a timer and a bar fill up starts with of ripp.

In fact I found the entire DLC a let down 60% of the map in the DLC is more ro less empty until the last 3 or 4 rifts that you find. I was running around going "where are the damn mobs "even on Ultimate for some unknwon reason as well they made the areas MASSIVE with ltittle to nothing in the them. Not to mention the entire feel of the DLC just feels nothing like the rest of the game in terms of tone and setting.

if you found the loot bad it means you didn't reach the good loot shard range/"intended farming shards", ie 20+ (26 or 30 ideally), and becomes easily one of the most rewarding farming avenues in the game.
It's also meant to be a challenge aspect on top, that's why it goes on "forever" (not actually infinite, but aside from some few gimmicks you can't really push to see the end the way it scales) https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/1-2-1-6-deep-sr-pet-build-75-84/153302/ - https://forums.crateentertainment.com/t/1-1-5-2-1-1-9-1-team-deep-sr-160-208-videos/93454
^also highlighting the challenge aspect, since after SR 40 there is no loot (and you only get loot checkpoint stone up to sr 36, making 40 loot highly ineffective on top aside build flex)

as for map being empty, sounds very strange :tiwthink: specially considered all the side "dungeons"/secret tombs etc there are too, i'd perhaps even go as far and venture a guess FG is more populated than some other areas in the game :abethink:
I've farmed shard 75/76 on ultimate for a while, but if it's true what's been written in the post before this one, then you don't need to go that deep.
You don't need to care for the timer, it's just a bit extra loot on top of it.

The Shattered Realm is highly rewarding in drops and far better then dungeons, especially if you look at the time you need for a run, and you can't reenter dungeons in the same session.

It's the best place to check your build as it gets far more difficult then the regular content of the game.
Shattered Realms is boring - I would agree abit on this, It was more fun the way it was designed before with 4-5 nemesis to engage with ohther people. But forget shattered realms abit now.. Can we get some more end game stuff, for example.. a new difficulity on base game or even a new DLC endgame thing like Crusable.
New Ascendant mode for Ultimate coming with the new expansion. Will work in the same way as Veteran does with Normal, but your character needs to be L100 to access it.

hmmmm I wonder why this is, eh? lol.
Ifyou find it boring then don't play it, simple. I haven't played SR or Crucible for years because I find both boring. Much rather play the campaign myself.

Farming can be boring for many (me included) but if you find more goods from farming Totems/Dungeons then as gNuff said, you just haven't reached 30-31 in SR. You get FARRRRR more legendaries/rares/patterns from SRin much less time spent. Trust me, I done been schooled on this and have learned not to question Master Yoda(aka gNuff)
they should should allow you to buy whatever stone you want from the start without working your way up to the blueprints for them

In my opinion, I liked the Forgotten Gods expansion (DLC). I mean yea sure, it is very different of course in terms of tone and plot to the main campaign and The Ashes of Malmouth expansion but that was the entire point. It did have its own 'grim' plot that there were more monsters coming from the Eldritch dimension and into the world of Cairn and there was a cult of fanatics trying to bring back an ultra powerful "forgotten" god. The point of the FG expansion was to show that you can have breaks from fighting the Aetherials/Cthonians and all that gloomy stuff plaguing the land and to still be a hero somewhere else and fight more evil.

The Shattered Realms can be boring to some players, I do not disagree with that, but the SR is optional anyways. It's there for the people that want to really take their builds to the ultimate test of a massive slog fest of fighting every single enemy in the game so far in one mode.

I enjoyed the music, scenery, monsters and loot in the FG expansion. The only downside that I find with it is that to my knowledge so far, we can't have a gryphon as a pet. Awww. *sad face*
So I give the expansion an 8/10 for that which is still a good score. lol

I also wonder what that will be like? Probably a slightly higher chance to get the most brand new of the newest legendary/epic items, and some Monster Infrequent items? I guess?

Maybe to also upgrade some new Epics like I saw it being mentioned in a previous newsletter.
IDK but, I like it. I use it to test builds and farm loot. Also I check if my builds can reach
SR 30-31. I believe that is the new SR level.
Besides, back then it took longer. Now it is shorter.

Bit of a update I am doing 30-31 like you suggested more or less I 2 shot everything that are not Nemeis copies or the actual bosses at the end still, and yeah I get more legendries than just farming ancient grove since I average 7 there and average about 12 from 30-31. The main downside is my current build has 2 rare items that can drop in the grove 1 has 100% which can still be improved(better rolls) for me. It´s still funny there are mobs I don´t 1 shot in Forgotten Gods areas but somehow same mobs in the SR get 1 shotted even at SR 30-31.
