Shattered Realm, I've never done it.
First: I am not a Zippidy Zip, speedy player.
I do not like timed quests and 100% always avoid them, even if it means game stop and move onto a different game.
I do not like to be rushed when I play games.

So, knowing the time will ALWAYS expire if I did Shattered Realms, would it be worth it for me to do?
Does it make a difference if you do it in Normal versus Elite or Ultimate?
What level is a good level to start it?

I've watched some videos and read some wiki's, but I feel they didn't really answer my questions with the above I wrote in mind.

it makes sense to play at a normal difficulty level, this will advance the passage much faster, and will open up the possibility of crafting stones, which will then help at high difficulty levels not to waste time on re-passing.

alternatively, try to join the online lobby, other players periodically farm SR at high levels, in case of successful completion of the race with them, you will immediately receive all the recipes for stones and achievements.

worth to note in general you don't have to rush to clear within timer
even on slow builds casually strolling through you still meet the timer at end, because you keep adding timer bonus from kills
main timer penalty is from dying, so even on slow builds/casually strolling through, it's only if you die you lose the timer and the 2 bonus chests

Thank you Uzul and nGuff!

Okay, I looked for but could not find the answer.
Total noob question.
What is a Shard?
SR is divided up in like "stages"
1 shard is 4 "chunks", (you collect imaginary shards to complete a stage), 3 regular random maps with your usual enemies, then the 4th chunk/final room of the shard, is a bossroom map where there is only boss enemy types, up to 4
when you've done the 4 chunks and thus completed a shard you move up to the next shard and its 4 chunks
it takes minimum 1 shard clear to get rewards at all
tho if you use a waystone/checkpoint you need to clear 2 shards (2 bossroom fights) for loot to normalize

Doing shattered realm is worth it at literally any point in the game if you're looking for gear and don't want to target farm for anything. it's quick and painless, even if you don't beat the timer like others have said. There's also stages which once you clear, you can go back to that higher starting point for better rewards overall.

Thank you everyone for the help.
I did up to the Third Shard (Normal) and ran out of time before the end of the first shard.
I told you I was not a zippidy zip player. LOL

BUT, all information did help.
So far I got 1 blueprint and a lot of Blue Mythical items, even though I ran out of time.
None of drops will help my Conjurer, but it's good to store until better comes along.
Thank you again. 😊

EDIT: Adding information.
My Pets do kill very fast.
But I'm not a player that rushes through areas, hence why I ran out of time.
It's no big deal like you all informed me and I appreciate that info. 😊

this is normal
lower shards have lower monster density and reward less time
the higher you go, you'll automatically be able to easier/more naturally maintain the timer as monster density and bonus seconds become more frequent

About what shard level will this happen?
I made it to SR20, but I'm still running out of time.
NOTE: Again, I am not complaining.
I already know I'm a slow progression kind of player.
Just asking the question out of curiosity. 😊
legit don't know "exactly" when the cutoff point is where it evens out, i'm mostly used to doing higher shards these days, 50+, simply because there is basically no decent loot to be had unless you run those higher ones, and i tend to even skip straight to 50 for quest clear too

Personally I'm not a fan of shattered realm, my eyes just start glazing over. I do still run the very first shard on every character for the extra shrine tho ;)

SR25 Ultimate - do it once as you get an attribute point + 3 skill points.

You don't have to grind in Ultimate, much much faster on just normal, but cash out on every 5 levels, and craft waystone to skip levels.

I'm currently doing SR in Normal.
I'm still in Elite, regular game, and have not unlocked Ultimate yet.
In SR Normal, since this is my first time through, I'm working on getting the blueprints for the waystones. I do not want to cash out every five levels because it makes me start all over at the bottom.
I can do that as soon as I have these waystone blueprints: 5, 20, 35, 50, 65. 😊

You have mnore hours than me in game, but you don't know how SR function :/...

Let me explain to you:
1) You get loot in SR only for the last two shards (levels). That's right. Playing 20+ shards in one session won't net you a lot of loot. It's not only massive waste of time, you risk a crashing game and then you'll get nothing.
That's the reason why everybody farm loot for only 2 shards (levels). The most efficient (if your build can do it) is SR 75-76 in Elite. Also after SR 80 you get nothing except for bragging rights.

2) Waystone opens every 5 levels, so you level up as:
0-5 / 5-10 / 10-15 / 15 - 20 and so on.
When you talk with Mazzan you have to force dialogue that you have waystone and that you want to open different shard. You don't start from bottom unless you listen Mazzan. Just force him in dialogue.

For example, Shattered Waystone opens the 5th, 10th or 15th Shard but if you listen Mazzan, he will hide it in dialogue. Just force him.

My hours are mainly from playing and deleting many, many characters anywhere between Devils Crossing and Homestead since year 2016.
Until my Conjurer these last few weeks. I've only completed GD, AoM, and FG once with a Druid.
I've never done Crucible. Because, I don't care for fighting waves of monsters.
Only a week ago, I did SR for the very first time, because all of you kind people let me know to not worry about the timer. 😊

If you can see my achievements, you'll see I have very little in Elite, zero in Ultimate, and zero in Hardcore. Although, for the life of me, I don't know why I do not have The Flames of Valbury Achievement. I have completed it, survived, and opened all of the chests that were there. 😊

Aether Fields, Lava Fields, Acid Water Fields, oh my!!!
All of the SR videos I watched never showed those.
I'll tell you.
RNG sure does like to give me a lot of Aether and Lava Fields. :sigh: LOL 😊
