Any GD2 is years away yet as Crate are working on a new generation of their game engine which they'd be using for GD2 down the line, but the RTS game is the first which will be using that.
They will need to increase the level cap if so, I second this.
Which I have yet to try. Just think I'd be butthurt if I died.
Before I started my HC. I based it off my SC characters that are proven. My SC Deathknight and my Ritualist. I will only play a HC character that is already tested in Soft Core. I may make a 3rd HC character. So far my Warlord is doing very well in SC.
If one or both die it is no problem for me. Will know better the next time. I am playing them at least once a week currently. Play my SC Grim Dawn the rest of the time.
I don't think that a level cap increase is necessary.
I know Zantai said they don't want any paragon system either but something like bonus XP system from xenoblade chronicles 2 would be nice.
XP you get past max level would be used as a currency (instead of going in to the void).
Or the system could give you some sort currency for getting full XP bar past level 100.
But i think it will stay the same as it is right now. After you get level 100 all the XP gets voided.
Something is better than nothing. Maybe not even increase the cap like you said, maybe continue to gain like 1 skill point for excessive amounts of XP and no attribute increase. Something. I get bored after hitting the cap. At least plenty more devotion shrines.
That's why I play exclusively from level 1 on Ultimate. You hit 100 about 4 hours before all the current game content, and that was with me intentionally killing a couple levels worth of experience away.
New doesn't always equal better. I'm happy with GD, and the care that Crate keeps giving to the game. I'll certainly check out GD2 if / when it comes out, but the original is far from "played out" for me.
Didn't like Forgotten Gods I take it?
In the patch 1.2 livestream they mentioned it is coming, but just "Not yet" as they're still building better tools to actually MAKE it.
Which I believe is the reason we're getting this patch, and Expansion 3, to tide our Grim Dawn-Hungry mouths over until a few years out when GD2 comes.
