Lol D3.....sorry almost choked on my water.
If you haven't tried Median XL which is basically D2 on steroidsX10. Then your missing out.
In a nutshell Median XL, own patcher, own servers, own community, (extremely active), trading hub, they are reworking the UI, adding new quests. A rediculous amount of end game, tons of secrets. Every character has been reworked, all new skills, all new skill effects and visuals. List goes on, would check it out if you already haven't.
Anyway I'll definitely give Median XL a try. I probably checked it out back in the days when I didn't like mods, and forgot about it.
D2R will be a good alternative to GD provided the developers do not screw it up.
D3 was meh, I liked it until RoS. I have hope D4 will be good.
Torchlight 1 was decent, but crashed a bit too much for my liking.
Titan Quest is basically older Grim Dawn.
PoE is fun until you get tired of being on the market half of the time. I guess you could play SSF to not do that.
The Reign of Terror mod for GD is pretty fun, it offer a lot of new build possibilities with the new classes.
Another reason not to give greedy Blizzard more money for a lazy rework. They should have paid the Median mod team to remaster the game, given them access to their tech and artists. Now THAT I might buy.
At the moment, no it does not compare to GD on any front really.
Thats not to say its bad but really its a very different type of ARPG, currently it lacks good gear/itemisation, lacks diverse build options, and has a half finished story. All of which is to be expected as its deep in beta. They reckon it will launch this year but I'd say it will need till early next year to be launch ready.
Grim Dawn will continue to be the best ARPG until Grim Dawn 2 is released.
BEGONE FOUL DEMON
I know that once I get my hands on D2R I will be playing that to death too. Now I'm hoping we also get a remaster of Diablo 1. If D2R turns out OK, hopefully the guys involved will start on original Diablo. As for Diablo 4, at this point I could really care less.
I know this will be considered heresy, but having grown bored with GD (been playing since early access), I finally decided to give D3 a try. Yeah, I agree with many others that the game is dumbed down from D2, and holds your hand (a lot). But that being said, the game runs butter smooth on my Alienware. Actually having fun with it; the Witch Doctor is a hoot.
Probably my main issue with it is you can't actually use any equipped weapons; they are nothing more than stat sticks. As before though, I'm having fun, and this will tide me over until D2R hits the shelves..
It's a shame cause the combat and flow of the action is amazingly well done, but literally everything else about it is hot garbage... sadly
How many hours you got? I still feel like a baby with 250 hours
But you are comparing apples and orange. Two rogue lites vs grim dawn. Wtf.
D3 is trash for that online only life.
