I sure hope so, I loved those games as a kid! :3

You can check gameplay videos of Grim Dawn - just be sure that the videos are up to date of course. It's still early access so not everything is complete.

Hmm interesting references, never heard about those 2 games, thanks for sharing this. Having seen some videos, it definitely looks similar gameplay though GD is slightly more steam punk and may have a little bit more options in gameplay. Not sure though.

Yea checking a few videos a few differences is that you create a character with only male/female options (at the moment - we may see facial/hair customization eventually).

There isn't a weight limit - just inventory space - which to me is better.

Only one race being humans which I doubt will change unless modding does something.

I hope they add races and character customization in the future! Ill be buying Grim Dawn on December and i wish they'd be implemented then :D

Character customization will probably come later closer to release - races I highly doubt since this is about humanity's struggle to survive. Which is why I added modding as a possibility.

That being said there will be different factions which is a way to provide diversity imo.

Is a workshop part of the planned features?

CoN and RTA are nothing like Baldur's Gate? They're Diablo style arpgs. They're actually super good games too. I think since they're EverQuest games a lot of people just dismissed them right away, but they have very little to do with the source material outside of places you visit.

@OP
I haven't really put enough time in the game to answer your question though, sorry OP. It's the same kind of game, if that's all you were asking. If you haven't I'd check out Path of Exile too, it's a really good game and it's entirely free.

Yes. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance I and II is EXACTLY like "Champions of Norrath and "Return to Arms". Exactly the same gameplay except A LOT better ^^
The "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance" series are PS2 exclusive games. I had so much fun playing these, and probably spent close to 1000 hours on the first one. Great voice cast, and great music.

Then they're Diablo style too? I thought they meant the original Baldurs Gate.

Dark Alliance is very expensive sadly... but Everquest on ps2 was the best thing ever!!!

Yea he meant the Baldurs Gate hack and slash game for PS2. Not the original Baldurs Gate for pc ;) Two completely different type of games (Y)
