How to seperate stacks?

Say I have a stack of 20 potions, how can I split them to put half in storage?

You could sell 10 and then buy them back later.

I have this problem too. If i have 100 scraps, and i need to trade it with someone else 20 of them. Its tedious to do it by throwing all out and picking the rest back again.

I hope there could be some seperating feature for stacks of same items.

Well there is trading in game so you could have someone hold your potions/scrap for whatever reason.

There is only really one way to do it, and that would be to sell te entire lot to the Dealer, then go to your item window with in the Dealer and buy the ones you want to keep, right a way. However before doing so, check the window to see how much available room is available in that window. When that window gets full it rplaces what was in there with what is coming next. Do you know how many available slots there are in the window? You should count first. If there isn't enough room, go to the other Dealer, if he is available.

You can't trade 'scraps' during a single game. Scraps are regulated to a purple border around them. They reside in the Smugglers Item Stash, not in the Transfer Stash.

Learn to manipulte the game to your needs.

Don't you think shift-click to split stacks like every other rpg on the planet might be a good idea?

CONTROL LEFT CLICK
This brings up a number widget that lets you select the substack size.
Works great.
