Barrowholm, please let us betray them! (EDIT: Oh, you actually can!)
I am so annoyed that I followed the quest breadcrumbs, spoke to the mayor to get the fetish, got the 'ah but you must do something for me, first!' trope we've all seen a million times before, and found out afterwards they're all cannibals and can't act on this revelation.

I realised something was off with the quality of housing but trusted Crate to let me act on it when the time was right, but no, from what I understand it's irreversible.

I don't even mind having to do the quests for them first and having the reveal/betrayal be after the fact, but once my character knows about it (not me as a player), they should have SOME reaction, right? Like with the dialogue options for the Outcast and the Secret of Kyren's Chosen questlines.

It's made me put the game down for now, as I CBA to start over and I'm not sure I want to continue. I realise I'm probably in the minority as I play ARPGs just once, generally. I'm not into the multi runs/builds/competitive side of the genre.

I mean, you spend the whole game rescuing people with your rift magic and yet, hey-ho it's just another day now you're actively helping innocent people get eaten? Come the f*** on, man.

EDIT: Turns out, you can reverse course on this. On the Meddling Witch quest I told Larria the Hexxer that she was wanted dead and I wouldn't kill her. This ended the questline early (and counted as a quest complete) and the mayor just disappears and you can loot his chest and get the fetish.

Just goes to show you should always try it yourself before looking it up and believing an online consensus!

At least augments are good. You made a correct choice. Might as well follow through and try to kill their god.
just keep up with them to beat up ravager, it's funny to do, having them sell you augments after you choke slammed their deity into the ground

Their soup is so good!

Personally I feel like I should make a separate character purely for farming Barrowholm and Outcast Nemeses and go friendly with remaining characters. It seems practical this way.

I know I made Warlord just for that. Works great against Flesh variant and it's not even MI reliant.

Nope, he is still there ready to lend you a friendly helping hand. He just goes deeper into the more foresty part of the village.

You're right ofc, I just meant he disappeared from his original location and isn't blocking the fetish loot. It leaves you in a position where you can just grind C'thonics for rep to get to the Raveger fight instead of explicitly helping them
