AOM DLC advice needed

so I finished main story line on normal diff. im level 62 , if i buy right now AOM dlc and install it, i m gonna continue where i left in basic game or something will be changed? or should i try firstly get some levels and raise faction popularity ? it s good game but i have nobody to ask these stuff, thx for advice

You'll continue from where you are now. You should be able to access the expansion by talking to Inquisitor Creed in Fort Ikon.

What was written is sound advice.

If you have already defeated Loghorrean and then you installed AoM, talk to Creed again at Fort Ikon.
You'll go through some dialog and then you'll ask him what's next or something like that.
A cut scene will happen.
You accept his quest and Amala will show up to ask you to save her Father Garett.
You are then given items.
One of those items will be used to explode the Aether crystal barrier in Burrwitch.
Travel from there to do AoM.

Once you defeat Loghorrean, the end boss of the vanilla game, you can continue on to Elite. As of patch 1.2, it also unlocks Ultimate. You have unlocked the next difficulty but you aren't forced to play it.

If you choose, you can continue playing in Normal and follow the AoM story. You can also switch back and forth from Elite, then back to Normal - the progress of difficulties are saved separately.

EDIT to say: there's no wrong answer. Play whichever mode you enjoy. Flip back and forth. Make a new character and start over! But enjoy.
