Still can't play with a friend with GOG version

How my GD experience with a friend look so far:
23.07 - Game comes out, we can't connect to each other. Tried various settings, port rerouting, messing with firewall, trying Wireguard - nothing worked, day lost.
24.07 - Lost half a day trying to fix the issue, finally setting up LAN with RadminVPN helped, we could play the second half of the day, life is good.
25.07 - Everything still works, life is good.
26.07 - We are trying to connect but game says "version mismatch". I check Steam for updates, game is now version 1.3.0.1. Friend still has version 1.3. No update on GOG possible. I make a thread, developer tells me that absolute chads worked during the weekend to push Steam update and GOG update will come later. Unable to play together.
27.07 - Still no update on GOG, day lost.
28.07 - Still no update on GOG, day lost.

I know I will sound like a ♥♥♥♥ but the extra effort the devs went through on weekend made the game completely impossible to play for us. Out of six days since the game released we were able to play one and half. At this point we are considering refunding the DLC. It would be a shame, I loved GD for years but there are limits how much one can tolerate.

This is GOG problem not a DLC ontent. GOG need to merge their content properly.

How can it be the GOG problem when dev itself said they pushed update on Steam and they will push it on GOG later?

We do, but our patience is running low, if it wasn't GD this thread would never be made, refund would be done on the first day and we would already forget about this situation.

I swear the worst part about this game, is legit the mp hoops you have to jump or not.

Yeah, but I am a bit of understanding towards bad MP implementation, they started as a very small team with low experience, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up to the point that very old games with non functioning MP anymore like Sacred or HoM&M III are easier to set up but once you set up GD by whatever means necessary it keeps working.

What I am not happy about is this update fiasco, I hope it's one time occurrence and next updates will be pushed evenly on all stores.

Im guessing you can't just grab your friend's gog files, install it to some folder and use that to connect with him with the same version?

I think not, multiplayer would only work through GOG Galaxy as antipiracy measure, files alone would not give me anything. The only method that could possibly work is knowing what files to replace in Steam version to downgrade to 1.3 but I bet that would just break everything because of GOG and Steam version differences.

team behind GOG need to update game data with 1.3.0.1 hotfix. Problem not game developer side.
