Werewolf- What weapons?
Simple question. Is it ideal to dual-weild, 2H, or, somehow, 1H+offhand? (Assume all the items are more-or-less equal)

It says it does x% main hand and x% off-hand damage, but while I have 1H+shield right now (just started), equipping a 2H doesn't seem to make the numbers go up, at least on paper. And it confuses me.

Not sure what a werewolf will do with the off-hand shield stats. You could try unequipping it and then compare the single weapon with the 2H weapon without a shield. It's possible that the wereform adds the shield listed damage to its overall damage. You can also hover your mouse over the Weapon Damage stat in the second tab of your character screen to see the weapon breakdown.
Weapon damage says 0.

With 1H+nothing, it says feral claws is doing 458-482. The weapon itself does 18-24.
With 1H+the starting shield, feral claws is up to 602-625. The shield has 23 damage.
With the 2H, which is higher level than the 1H, it says 524-701. The weapon does 31-107.

I may have been wrong when I said that it doesn't make the numbers go up on paper.

Maybe it literally doesn't matter, and we should treat weapons as stat sticks? But that doesn't make sense, since the werewolf tooltip says x% main, x% off-hand damage.

I am very confused.

And the tooltips don't agree. The tooltip for werewolf says feral claws does 117 piercing, the tooltip for feral claws says it does 223, and the character sheet says 335 piercing.
Interestingly, implements of war appears to both grant extra bleeding damage while shifted / dual wielding (seemingly at 50% of the listed value per arm?) and the dual wielded weapon usually has better dps than the shield.
..yeah, now I have no words.

Got a new 1H weapon, that should be way better than my old 1H weapon. And yet.

What is this calculation.
..and now that I have dual-wielding, it matters whether or not barrog's bloody arm or aetherwoe are in the main/off-hand, with barrog's in the main and aetherwoe in the off giving 1057-1130 paper damage, whereas the other way around is 979-1053.

The 2H is 893-1159.

And the white starter shield being in the off-hand, vs aetherfoe.. barely makes any difference.

I don't understand this at all.

Agreed. The bleed bonuses are nice and I'm sure there's some on attack affects that could help but idk if dual wielding is actually worthwhile.
has to do with dmg type, like pierce/bleed. and dont convert to chaos dmg. physical boosts it pretty good.
