Other than that' i'd suggest to go through the regular troubleshoot stuff, check video settings are fitting, verify game files, reset settings maybe, background processes etc
hw management/resource monitor to confirm if GPU/CPU is even being utilized proper,
I have also random micro freezes (?), lasting about half a second (Maybe when I discover a new part of the map)... And systematically when I go up a level.
I have tested different video options with no results so far.
Note: I installed the game after the update, so I don't know if it's the fault of this update.

- Happen in combat but never more than one time for some reason.
- Happen outside combat when moving on the map.
- Happen all the time when leveling.
I will try some other video option via Nvidia settings, if nothing work probably uninstall until a patch.
*keep in mind there is no 1 universal fix for all, some doesn't manage to get a solution, some gets an improvement, some might get it removed totally fine, and in several cases it's not been the same trick for all

*note that for some people one might work even if the other don't for others neither work
**powbam's method is a super quick check if that works and doesn't actually require to download the tool, just like lasse's can be done manual too, the difference is in the "execution"/amount of threads disabled and or if left on or turned on again.
Aside from that there is stuff (don't remember if in Mikey's guide) such as don't use ingame Vsync but apply it via gpu control panel,
check check your powerplans, especially for CPU if using a ryzen cpu, several users had reported before switching to performance? (max) removed their stutters in that case instead of having balanced(medium?) or eco plan active
likewise try ingame setting with Deferred Render on in many cases, but in some cases people have better with it off (tho as i understood technically that shouldn't be)
and while it's been stated many times that is has absolute 0 effect and is pure placebo, a few users swear by changing number of threads in the options.txt
having game install or most notably save location on an SSD has also been known to make a (big) difference for some users
*since for some people the game reset settings after 1.2 update it can be worth to confirm all your settings are actually as they should/were before for Grim Dawn.
Likewise certain background processes have been known to interfere with GD more than others like certain sound related stuff, not specifically Spotify but some similar audio output related app/web site was reported by some(sry don't remember the name)
Yes it might be a bit annoying, but it's going to be like a process of elimination type deal depending on which form of stutter you have and it's cause/solution - and in the past some people just never found a solution for their system, tho others have
Personal anecdotal solution for me was using some Nvidia inspector settings recommended in some old GD steam forum post, totally removed my stutters, but i couldn't use it since it caused screen tearing and mandated no vsync that i felt was worse.
Likewise while my stutter had been minimized to only aread loading type (spawning in enemies/rendering zone ahead), after the summer Steam client update that changed the UI and caused increased resource use, i got new/additional stutters, and only way i removed those was playing Grim Dawn on my GoG copy. - meanwhile others did not report new/increased stutters after said summer steam client update /shrug
Thank you! I will read that.
Edit: One time the game even crashed when I scrolled on the devotions screen to check various devotions. That never happened before.
