4k UI Scaling 2022
I've seen previous discussions about this back in 2019.....well I bought the game today, and sadly refunded in less than 15 mins..... I know the game is most likely great, I know you can scale resolution down to better improve UI size, I know I can modify the actually files to increase UI size.......but I should not have to. If they are not willing to fix something so trivial, then I will not be buying this game.

And I swear, if they ever do fix it, I will re purchase the game. But this was a discussion years ago and has not been addressed....

Considering that the adoption rate for 4k has gone from 1.74% to a whopping 2.39% since then, the conversation really hasn't changed.

At least it's caught up to gaming on a Mac now.

You know people can tell how many people use 4K the number is a lot lower than you'd ever expect :3 literally less than 3% of steam users are using 4K

The average person is still using 1080 Ti's not everybody can afford to buy next level computers especially since economic value in the world is a lot worse the average person goes broke in less than a week of getting paid lol

I don't understand why people can't just play the game in 1920x1080 and be happy, So spoiled lol

I should take you back to the 90s when we had 16 bits and small TVs XD

You have 4K you are obviously not the average person at least financially, I seriously doubt the devs are going to do an insane 4k overhaul just to please a base of players that's less than 100 people especially to a product that has sold like what 2-3 million units lol

Also they don't care about your one repurchase what 20 bucks they've made millions probably, Have a nice day ^^

You should play the game for fun scale your res down to see the UI noob XD

i rem starting with a 14" svga and 640+ was great, thought i was doing good, then age set in, now im up to big widescreen at 2560x1080, looks better and better on my failing eyes. So yeah up to a certain point it has its uses.

1060 and 1050ti are the most popular GPUs among steam users. something to consider before investing resources into overrated 4K

A good deal of you are just salty you can't even attempt 4k. Its is a simple patch to future proof the game, Even if I am the minority, I can still ask for a simple feature that most other games include. (even indie games)

I have tried, but it does not scale enough for 4k. They just need a simple patch to extend the UI scale range. Most people are acting like I asked them to completely change the game...lol its a simple fix for future proofing.

Sir, there would not have to be 4k overhaul. It already supports 4k, it just needs to slightly extend the UI scale range. And why are you calling me a noob, for asking an honest question. People like you are the reason gamers look bad. I acknowledge 1440 is a good standard for now, but 4k is the future, and having the capability (that most indie games have) to sale a UI, is honestly a pretty basic ask in this day.

They don't have to change anything, its just a suggestion.

From my trouble guide

For 4k scaling issues of in game text

Although the in-game slider has a limited range, you can make the UI scale up larger by editing the options file located at (default location):

...\Users\[user]\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\Settings\options.txt

Look for the following setting (default value):
uiScale = 0.5
uiScale = 1.125 makes the in-game interface almost exactly twice the width and height of the default 0.5.
The main menu and options menu don't scale up.

Confirmation of the above

You can make the in-game UI scale up larger by editing the options file located at:

C:\Users\[user]\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\Settings\options.txt
(on some systems it might be located somewhere in the Steam userdata folder, which might be at):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[steamid#]\219990

Look for the following setting (default value):

uiScale = 0.5

uiScale = 1.125 makes the in-game interface almost exactly twice the width and height of the default 0.5. (also useful for DSR 4x on a 1920x1080 monitor)

There is currently no way to scale up the main menu and options menu.

1920x1080 uiScale = 0.5[i.imgur.com] (default in-game slider setting)
3840x2160 uiScale = 1[i.imgur.com] (maximum in-game slider setting)
3840x2160 uiScale = 1.125[i.imgur.com]

Thank you for you concern, but if you reread the original post. I understand I can modify the game files.
