The Archer mastery in TQ was a joke, basically you had that one Exploding Shot skill that was on cooldown for 10 seconds. Meanwhile in Diablo 2 we had a full bar of skills for Archery and none of them had any cooldowns.
Grim Dawn is the same. Archery aka Gunnery is basically just auto attack. There are no decent skills for it. Allt he skills are melee oriented. Some of them are applied to Guns, like Shaman has that Primal Strike thing I forgot what it's called. But they don't have the kind of crowd impact mechanics as Diablo 2 did.
There is no equivalent of Multishot, there is no Strafe, there is no Magic Arrow, etc.
You can simulate some of these effects by using Devotion procs on your auto-attack but in general Crate is not good at making archery playstyles. It's also a limitation in the game system.
If you download DOM or any of the Diablo 2 mods you will see that the Amazon emulation is pitiful.
Caster builds are more fun but Archery? Tough luck.
Probably the best Archer build you can make in this game is a Lightning Shaman with the Primal Strike, then augment it with the Ultos Devotion proc.
He doesn't want a caster build he wants an archer build.
Unfortunately there are no good Archer builds in this game. Even Ulzuin Set sucks, or the Bleed Rifle. They are not on the level of melee or caster builds. Even with mods Archery still sucks in this game.
I like how you conflate Iron Lore (a full team of like 2-3 dozen employees) with Crate, where 2-3 people (out of 13) ever worked at Iron Lore.
It's ok to be salty about "archery" but at least keep your ducks in a row.
Storm Spread and Brimstone would like to have a word with you.
I dunno why you are stalking me and why you are so fixated with me, but it's kind of creepy man.
Eww.
All of which are on a cooldown, so they are not the same as how Diablo 2 did it. It's just like the Scattershot in TQ.
You can keep dreaming but I most certainly don't follow you. I see every new thread that gets made in this forum. Ever hear of the subscribe button? It will alert you to any new threads made in the whole section.
So leave the theatrics out of it.

But in general, if you don't want me to reply to you then try harder not to make asinine statements that beg to be rectified. You in particular do it extremely often.
So? Does every game have to be an exact Diablo clone? Of course not. The OP was expecting GD to be more similar to Diablo than it is, that's all. If they can adapt/try different things in the game they'll find plenty of fun to be had.
This somewhat outdated build by Nery uses plenty of skills.

storm spread have a chance to proc, but can easily proc multiple times in a row or per second
brimstone is a guaranteed effect per shot no matter what as long as you hit a target
There are no cooldowns on Brimstone my friend...
Primal Strike isn't too bad at CC if you set it up right. You can't really say it doesn't make any impact for CC at the very least...
If you want something more ranged "active" than auto-attack, Blackwater Cocktail or Stun Jacks from the Demolitionist is fun, and can be quite tanky depending on your second class for the build.
Nightblade has Phantasmal Blades.
Arcanist has Replicating Missiles, and Albrecht's Aether Ray if you want to do the Iron Man thing.
Shaman also has Devouring Swarm which can really get op with the right gear and devotions.
Inquisitor has Flames of Ignaffar (similar to the Arcanist Aether Ray).
Necromancer has Drain Essence.
Oathkeeper has Aegis of Menhir if you want to do the Captain America thing.
Even Cadence from the Soldier can do ranged attacks, but it feels more auto-attackish in gameplay.
