Putting points in Inner Focus has really helped allow me to keep Primal Strike as my default attack, which can start to be an energy drain if you don't load up on gear with regeneration, which I tend to want to forgo in favor of more defense oriented stuff.
Which one would be the most suitable from all is very hard to tell because it depends on what gamestyle and weapons you choose to play with.
And they can use any weapon.

i do not recommend Soldier, as it brings nothing to the lightning table, nor would i recommend Demo as mines are gonna be fiddly af, and you'll be busy as is spamming wind devils
+1
Also Warders are fun as well.
and what a PS build desperately needs is dmg, because PS has crapola ST dmg
Second class you want to pick for supporting abilities. Soldier, Oath and Night offer solid passive support and a movement ability to help you get around.
that's like, the worst combos to pair with primal strike spamming Shaman, unless you're doing a silly pierce/cold PS, which mainly is availble at 90+, or a vitality PS spam archon, which is not gonna be fun compared to any other dmg type
