How long did it take you to finish the main story?
Without the DLC, how long is this game, roughly speaking?

With gear for leveling (Lokar set + tonic with +100% xp bonus) it usually take 9-10 hours with casual non rush gameplay for me

If rushing like no tomorrow... well, maybe 5 hours

If you rush through normal you can probably do it in 20 hours. 40 if you explore a lot.

But this game is not so much about finishing the story and more about creating the most powerful character possible and that can take hundreds of hours.

With the 36 class combinations (45 with the soon coming DLC) you can spend thousands of hours to create an army of demi gods.

Less than ten hours if you decide to never fully solve the food problems in Devil's Crossing.

I have a char that is lvl 53 and we just ended main story without dlc on veteran with a friend of mine, took us roughly 31 hour. Do keep in mind that he is first timer so there was a lot of standing still studying items, discussing skills, and components.

There's no need to rush. If it's your first time, just enjoy the adventure. Grim Dawn is one of the few games along with Sacred 2 that have more optional content than the main quest, both rewarding exploration in spades.

Agreed. Take your time. It's not a race. My first play through took me over a week (probably 4 - 6 hours/day). There are a ton of hidden passages in this game. You will miss them if you just blow through from quest to quest.
