Grim Dawn Item Assistant not launching

Just tried installing GD IA for the first time ever and after downloading it, I try to launch the exe. and literally nothing happens.
I've disabled all the cloud syncing options and moved all the save files but I can't get Grim Dawn Item Assistant to open. I've tried restarting my PC and running in Admin mode but nothing works.

Anyone got any ideas?

Exempt its installation folder from your AV settings. Sounds like it is being blocked.

It sometimes lags a little when you open it, how much time are you giving it? I normally have to wait a little bit (maybe 10-15 seconds?) when I launch it.

The installer just doesn't launch at all. I've downloaded it from Nexus and DreamCrash and neither files will open.
I've gone through AVG and windows firewall settings and added them as exemptions but still nothing.

I know Windows peculiarities pretty well but even I was not aware of this little thing. Pretty sure I've never come across it or seen mention of it yet but now I have filed it away in my memory as yet another thing to factor in.

Is this still a thing? I just now installed it and when I go to launch the app NOTHING happens. I checked my windows firewall (win 10) and it's not even listed there. But I do see the installed app in program files and stuff is there for the program but it doesn't run. I tried to run the program as ADM and still nothing.

Mine works fine. Glad you figured it out. Wish I knew more about computers to help out snoopy, but I just followed the instructions and it worked so that's all I know lol.
