Video Lag
I am having a big problem with video lag. I have changed my video card thinking that my old gtx 460 was not good enough for the latest games. I went to a GTX 950 that is overclocked. And it didn't make a bit of dif. I have all the resolution settings set to min. and hte lag is still there. I love the game but with the lag it makes the game suck. I was wondering if maybe a slow internet could have anything to do wiht it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What CPU are you using? If your single threaded performance is terrible then your GPU will be hindered.

hmm it could be that he is only playing with randoms in multiplayer, since he mentions the Internet. If so, then he would experience lag depending on how far away the host is. Nothing can be done about that except play with people who live near you.

I have an Intel i7 dual core 960@ 3.2 gig x2, 16 gig of ram, and a brand new GTX 950 that is overclocked to 1241 Mhz., and just over 2 gig of ram. It lags in single player also. I have no problems with skyrim, and Fallout new vegas which have more graphics than this game. I just don't understand why this game should be a problem.

Poor optimization (its an EA alpha build) + first gen core i series = your problem. Hth.

No problems on my desktop(i7 4770k + GTX 970), and no problem on my laptop (i7 4810MQ+870m) - but I have way faster single threaded speed than you do - yes even on my laptop lol.

For reference (and not that one benchmark will say much, but I hope it illustrates it) http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7+960+%40+3.20GHz is your proc, slightly under 6k passmark score and a my laptops proc http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-4810MQ+%40+2.80GHz getting close to 9k.

Your stuff is getting so old that mobile parts can greatly out pace it.

EDIT: I am not saying your proc won't swing this game, but given its age you are gonna have to wait for some optimizations lol.

He probably just needs to tweak (or learn to tweak) the settings in both the game and the Nvidia control panel and find a level that runs good. The game needs optimization yet (a phase which should be around the corner, not too far away now) so just because your card is awesome and can play whatever game no problemo doesn't mean it's awesome for GD yet (<-blahblahblah ppl say this stuff ALL the time. Yes we get it, your hardware is pimp-tastic, doesn't mean your knowledge of how to use its settings for an early access game is pimptastic tho). Don't make the game play at settings your system (and the game) isn't kosher with. Find the ones it is. Just because you can play CoD 5 Billion and a Half at Ultra Super Saiyan 9999 l33t Daddy more Real than Real Graphics mode doesn't mean you can do the same with GD and get away with it.

It's simply all part and parcel of playing games that are still being worked on. Some minimal to moderate know-how is required for early access, regardless if that caveat is provided in the Steam Early Access wording or not. If youi're gunna play early access games then you simply just "should" have some concept of wtf yer doing.

No offense to the OP and not directly directed at you (unless, of course, you have no idea wtf you're doing, then ya it would be directed at you, with a vengeance ;)

I fixed the problem. I dumped the local files and reloaded the game. It is runinning on recomended specs and doing just fine. The original download must of had some kind of corruption, or a missing file. The computer gods can be cold and heartless at times. Just glad I don't have to work on computers for a living. I would look like one of those stressed out parrots that pull out their own feathers. Thank you all for your suggestions, you are all awsome.
:) np mate glad u solved tha problem
messenger77, a friend of mine is experience the same problem you had, so can you please be more specific about what files you deleted. :beatmeat:
