Couldn't initalize graphics engine

I can't get Grim dawn to work. It used to work on this computer now it doesn't.
I"m running Windows 10 64bit, with a Nvidia GTX 760 graphics card. I'm running sound and video to my 1080p tv through HDMI. I have the latest nvida driver. I can't download Directx9 because it doesn't work with Windows 10 but I did download and install the redistributable.
I've been to the Grim dawn directory and ran reset. I"ve even went to my documents and manually edited the options file.
I play lots of other games and I've run about 10 of them and none of them have any issues its just Grim Dawn.
I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it at a differnt location. I've been messing with it for about 3 days and would love to know what the actual issue is and if there is a fix.

Got the same problem also did all the steps above (win10) it worked perfect yesterday then suddenly while playing it crashed now i can't restart because it gives me the (Couldn't initalize graphics engine) message.

If im not mistaken, I read nvidia screwed up if you downloaded the latest driver. A lot of people are complaining it messed up steam games

I fixed this twice. Unfortunatly the only way I was able to do it was to reset my Windows 10, ie reinstall it. I've messed with it for hour and hours and I could not figure out what the problem is.

Windows 10 is the problem. I don't get why do people keep using it. Directx 12 isn't ready yet anyway. So many compatibility issues. Win 7 master race :D

hm got it to work by checking all options in the repair file and it started in window mode thou it crashes when i set it to fullscreen it only works on borderless window for me.

I prefer Win7 myself, as well. Too bad it's kinda hard to get Win7 these days, especially if buying a new computer.
