I seem to be trapped in Tomb of Archem Barthollem

Hey all, I was cruising through the Tomb and got to the end of this floor, went through an iron gate that won't let me back through, and the way forward is also blocked by an iron gate.
What did I miss?

Oh, is that end of the new content? That must be it. There was a guy in the last two updates who'd tell you you were at the end. But I am still trapped.

No the end of the new content is at the gates to the Necroplis where you will meet John but no music this time. Seems weird to be stuck there can you not rift gate out? Basically you should kill the archon open the tomb get the ashes then leave by the either gate.

There was a sarcophagas in the room, a new one I havent seen, i clicked it nothing happened at all except the highlighted name was gone.

The first iron gate I walked through after clicking it, it closes behind me, and locks. The large gate just befor the exit is not highlighted, I can't click it or anything, can't walk through.

I can riftgate out sure, but I haven't unlocked beyond this spot so I can't warp there to get by.
I did find a "loose torch" in the previous room by warping back to the real gate and retracing steps. I click it, says "A door opens somewhere else" type msg but it wasn't the inner gate.

I can't find another :loose torch" or button / lever of any kind. I killed the archon, but i don't remember any ashes.

I'll just have to do another run and look more closely i guess.

There usually is a boss fight in this room. After that fight, both gates open. The boss fight is related to a quest and the second gate just gets you back out of the tomb.

The loose torch opens a secret passage in the wall next to it, which leads to another secret area behind a breakable wall with a Devotion shrine.

Weird, I've returned here 3 times now and same thing everytime. The first small iron gate which locks behind me (per usual boss room), and a sarcophagas, but no boss. Once in the room, i have to rift out all 3 times (after quit/reload).
I must be missing some kind of trigger earlier on? I haven't seen anything like this in game before though where I actually get trapped.
I cannot advance my game past this point until I figure this out. I don't think I have killed the Archon then, it must have been a different boss if the Archon is supposed to be in this room.

There is no trigger you could have missed before, however the quest is specific to the Order of Deaths Vigil. Is there any NPC in the boss room or is it just plain empty?

I'm sided with the non-necro faction.
I think you're onto something @Luzzifus, I have just cruised through w/o taking quests, or just a few. It must be related to a quest, but i talked to everyone at Fort Ikon but there was no quest giver that i found.

The quest is from Sorrow's Bastion.
