Polar Opposite Class Marriages - Not recommended or viable?

Viable w/o crazy ass farmed gear is my real question whilst leveling or early farming.

I would like to make an alt, Spellbreaker, Mage or Witch Hunter.

The spellbreaker sounds need in concept, but I would rather not get frustrated during leveling farming if the combo means much harder gameplay. Maybe I should just farm with my Ritualist for now and wait and do this later?

Or maybe just roll a Blademaster and say screw it.

It depends specifically what you plan on doing with them. Both Spellbreaker and Witch Hunter are more than viable. Spellbreaker was nerfed in the past because it was too viable.

If you plan on playing heavy on melee with dual wield, I'd lean heavily on NB while leveling. For example, Star Pact is used for the frostburn and reducing the CD of Shadow Strike, but you certainly don't need to rush Arcanist 50 for it.

Again, it depends on what you plan on doing with them.

spellbreaker works quite well without much effort. you can find spectral longswords fairly early and they give a good boost to a cold based shadow strike build.

later on you also have the option to farm a soulrend (one of the easiest to farm legendary weapons) and have fun zooming around with super low shadow strike cooldown.

throw in some sky shards, flash freeze, ring of frost or skills from items you found along the way and you have a pretty cool build with very low effort.

not sure why you think witch hunter wouldn't work, they both support poision damage, and witch hunter absolutely eats monsters up during leveling - more so if you grab one of the MI's that convert vitality dmg to poision so you really get some boost out of bloody pox

spellbreaker might not have stackable RR, but arcanist more than makes up for that in buffs and raw cold power added to nightblade, if you ever wanted to try level as a Shadow Strike focused build this is surely a great class combo for that - grab the spectral longswords azunai mentioned if you can, but don't sweat it too much if you don't find any, spellbreaker will still destroy plenty

Basically what I'm trying to say is, yes Witch Hunter is very viable... very. And the most fun I have with any of the 13 level 100 chars I have.

Takes a lot of gearing to get it fired up and kick ass worthy, but well worth the effort.

I have a Mage Hunter too. Now don't get me wrong here, she's very strong and viable as it gets, pretty good fun too, but she ain't a patch on the WH.

Can't speak of Spellbreaker sorry.

That looks fun, but looks like you play that caster style.

Looking more for melee build for my next alt.

Doesn’t have to be pure melee via Warlord or Blademaster tho.
