Need advice for a fire caster build
I am planning to max Flash Freeze for freezing and fire resist reduction. Problem is I can't find strong fire spell to complement it. Should I become a sorcerer and use black water cocktail etc?
I am not planning to defeat celestials etc. I just need a strong fire spell to use after casting flash freeze. Thanks!

Callidor's Tempest is very strong and can easily convert aether to fire with Kyzogg's Skull off hand. This drops from Kyzogg, just outside Devil's Crossing so is super easy to get this item. Sorcerer is an excellent class for this.

The thing with CT is there are a lot of other items that convert fire to aether, cold or lightning. So finding fire items for it can be tricky. It's perfectly ok to level it with fire+aether, or fire+lightning items. The blue Callidor set is good for fire damage. The Vanquisher endgame set is also ok if you are inclined to grind for that thing.

The best Endgame items IMO, convert it mostly to aether, but if you aren't going after the celestials this doesn't matter. You can do whatever damage type you want.

Inquisitor for Flames of ignaffar. it will be a bit of tri-elemental build, but it's very fun, and there is an endgame set supporting it.

Yep, this Mage Hunter is also good. I never played this skill or class, but it's got lots of good synergy.

Thank you both, since I already have the skull, I am going to build Callidor now. Since flash freeze and callidor spells are both Arcanist's, which secondary class do you suggest?

Thanks but that build doesn't have flash freeze.

My suggestion here for a secondary class would be Oathkeeper. Vire's Might with Volcanic Stride taken gives you a very strong way to reposition to drop Callidor blasts where you want them. And later on the Celestial Presence sub node of the Guardians of Empyrion (which scale their damage off your own character damage) gives you another source of fire RR. Ascension gives a very strong damage soak as well.

If that doesn't strike your fancy there is also the more standard option of Demolitionist. But Thermite Mines are a bit more click intensive to get your fire RR. And you'd need to lay hands on a glyph for repositioning needs.

Even if you decide to follow some guide/build, you usually don't have to take it as a gospel. You can change it to better fit what you are trying to achieve or what fits your playstyle better.

That being said, what you are trying to achieve, should be quite simple with Mage Hunter or Templar, so those might be quite obvious choices for you.

Lastly, downside of Flash Freeze is that the duration is really short, which despite the nice RR it provides makes it's usefulness very situational, so keep that in mind.

Thanks, I picked demolitionist, it seems to synergise with fire arcanist very well.:presidente:

When i wanted to do a fire caster i decided for oathkeeper and inquisitor. Paladin. You get 24/7 RR from both and You can throw the shield as kind of fireball, which is stronger than i thought it would be, even if i didn´t pick the fissure and meteor devotions as i don´t like these very much...

With the Virtue set it has 100% fire damage, and with the soulblade the fervor standard attack also has 100% fire damage. From inquisitor i only took the aura, for fire damage and RR - and the critical damage boost passive.

Just to have it said - it´s actually not so much explosion overload, and the screen isn´t covered with things flying around, when going phoenix, hyrian and light of empyrion, so it´s pleasant to play with.
