$66.29 on steam summer sale
absurd cost. 7.49 for the base game, big deal when you have to pay another $60 for the rest of the game. mass effect is selling their revamped complete trilogy with 40 individual dlc's for 5.99. even if they are an inde publisher, the price for this game far exceeds its value. this is why this game has been on my wishlist for over 5 years

The base game plus the expansions minus the loyalist packs is about $60. For the amount of content this game offers and the constant updates, the game is well worth the $60. If you like these kinds of games and looking to sink some hours into a game like this, I highly recommend it. You'll get your money's worth.
OMG We have a new Game Baldurs Gate 3...oh the price is 80 bucks.... ok let's wait 10 years for the price droping to 30 Euro so i can enjoy this game when i'm going to be a Grandpa...

If you don't have the money don't start this is high price or not . I want to buy a Lambo but the price is 300k ...Mind to drop it at 10 k Euro ??

Besides what gnuff said about "your money, your values, your choice", which has no doubt been said ad-nauseam whenever one of these threads pop up, I will add that the discounts are set up as they are precisely because the base game is like a sampler that helps you make a decision. Virtually any fan of the game will reiterate that picking up the base game is a good way to see if Grim Dawn is the ARPG for you, then you can decide whether you want more of it and pick up the DLCs.

I'm not sure what a big publisher that wants to milk their IPs for every penny and pricing on a 17 year old game trilogy (refreshed textures or not) have to do with how we have priced an actively updated game that still has an expansion on the way.

As it stands from our side of things, the game and its DLCs continue to sell well and we do not have a strong motivation to do deeper discounts. Things are priced for what we believe is fair value for our work. You decide if that value is fair for your hard-earned dollar.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well said Sir.

that thread is just clown bait, lock it already.

i mean it's kind of obvious

-private profile

- clearly made no research on the game whatsoever.

why is this thread still alive.

All private profiles display as level 0, that's just how steam works.
You can see it by hovering over my profile, or if you want someone who owns the game on their account, M1's profile. All will say level 0 since our profiles are private.

Game is worth full price. Frankly, the game is worth more than full price so I bought all the loyalty packs. Secondly, Mass Effect trilogy is a masterpiece of storytelling, personal color splash aside.
My wishlist contains an end to inane threads in our lifetime but Santa just keeps bringing me coal and charcoal fluid. But I carry on. I carry on.

How are you gonna say the price far exceeds it's value when you, by your own words, haven't even played it yet? This has to be bait
What a crazy post! Either buy it or not. The hours of fun I have had with Grim Dawn makes it worth it at full price. I would buy it while it is on sale.

I double dipped this fantastic game here, when I abandoned GOG few years ago after their Galaxy Abomination shenanigans!

And it was/is still and again worth every cent!

Recently I even bought Soundtrack, something I (almost) never do, just to support the devs!

Can't wait for Fangs of Asterkarn and will of course buy it full price, day one, because it will be worth it and (probably) awesome!

:cozybethesda:
It is worth every $!
The quality of the game - and love they invest into it, we're getting an absolute bargain.
Stop being so stingy and just buy it and enjoy an amazing game.
You probably bought D4 for 3x as much $ for a 100x worse game.

It worked on me. I bought the game, then after a couple of hours, I went and purchased the expansion DLCs. This was more than I would typically spend on a game, but I didn't pick up the cosmetic packs, because I'm told that they aren't necessary.

Mass effect isn't even worth 5 dollars though, which says a lot about your "discerning taste" lmao. People who like the genre will play this game for hundreds of hours so 30$ is a good price.

that's hilarious. mass effect has won numerous game awards and no matter which site you look at the rating for the game is always high. many many people would rate it as the greatest gaming trilogy of all time. but hey, that's just the majority, i'm sure opinion is more reflective of the game's true success rather than the revenue it has generated.

35€ around for the base game + all dlcs (without loyalist packs). Either buy it or not, your opinion doesn't matter to anyone else.

Edit: 32.53€ precisely for the edition

if the publisher has an interest in selling their product, i'd think they'd be interested in the opinion of potential buyers. then again maybe i'm being a bit presumptuous...

phenir eredeti hozzászólása:
The dlcs are 25% off though.

Why don't you buy just the base game and see if you like it enough that the dlcs would be worth that? No one is forcing you to buy the dlcs at the same time. Actually, maybe that's why they are at different sale prices. Low point of entry but the total ends up being around half total price without sale.

The real question though is why the crucible went up in base price earlier this year but none of the other dlcs did.

you're an optimist. i like that. i have very little free time and i'd like to invest it into something i consider worthwhile. maybe this game would be worth my time, and maybe it would not. however knowing i spent money on something unequal to what i value it would make it difficult for me to enjoy.

just for the record, i have no interest in detracting from the fun you're having on the game. as a matter of fact it's not my intention to debate anyone here. i'm making a point that is reflective of my own opinion. one that exists independent of anyone else. i'm simply pointing out the inconsistency in pricing and the potential buyers they're alienating by it. will i get any support in this thread? no of course not. people who aren't interested in buying this game because of its cost aren't lurking here. it's people who have already decided to buy it and are enjoying it. after this post i'll be disappearing again into obscurity, only returning if/when the publisher's decide to list their decade old game at a cost that i believe reflects its value.

good day

The Mass Effect games are amazing, they hold up, but the time on the empty arse citadel is annoying. The very last game (can't remember name, sorry) wasn't my favorite, but the bundle games are all great. I think that 3 might be the best, but I haven't finished any but number one. To each their own, I guess. These games are very widely acclaimed.
They do have the right to change the pricing of the game based on demand for the game, and seems like they've done so in response to inflation and active development of a new expansion pack. Perhaps their merch-funding attempts were not as successful as they'd like. Here is a chart tracking the variances in the USD price for the definitive edition. It appears the cheapest it's recently been was Spring 2023 at a -60% discount. As the title of the post points out the base price of the package, that too saw an increase of $2 in February of this year.

"you're right it's $30 which is still twice what i value it at. thank you for pointing that out to me tho"

You dont even deserve to play this game after stating crap like this... this game is worth so much more. Especially for the amount of content you get.

Happy to see GD doing well, this game and you as developers deserve all the love for it. Bought all the DLC, and Farthest froniter even though its not a genre for me just to support you guys. Keep doing what you doing!
